When I learned EFT I primarily wanted to decrease my fear of public speaking, as well as, learning how to stand up for myself. Within just one session we had cleared many of the negative emotions associated with my fears of public speaking and I left the session feeling much lighter, and above all, more confident. Of course being the introvert that I am I will never feel 100% comfortable when speaking in front of a group of people, but whenever I know I have to speak, I will start using EFT before the event and that will calm me down, help boost my confidence and help me handle any fears.
Since then I became an EFT practitioner in Geneva and have been working with it on a wide variety of fears, health issues, psychological issues and performance issues.
So, what exactly is EFT?
About 5,000 years ago Chinese doctors mapped meridian lines found in the human body. The discovery and understanding of these pathways of energy led to the development of acupuncture to balance the energy (Chi).
Sometimes, however, the flow of energy is disrupted. An overload of energy in the form of strong emotions and trauma can block the flow of energy. Optimal health depends on energy consistently flowing; balanced, free, and uninterrupted throughout the entire body.
This is where EFT comes in. EFT will help clear energy disruptions in your acupuncture meridians. Allowing energy to once more flow freely to all parts of your body but without having to use the acupuncture needles. EFT combines NLP (positive affirmations) with gently tapping along the meridian acupuncture lines and is thus a very powerful tool to release any forms of negative emotions.
Great, but how exactly does EFT help with weight loss?
There is a massive amount of research demonstrating the effect of negative emotions on weight. A study done at Griffith University School of Medicine with 89 women showed that if they used EFT tapping for just 15 minutes each day without exercising or being on a diet, were able to lose 16 lbs (7 kg) after just 8 weeks.
EFT helps by getting the nervous system out of the sympathetic nervous system (that’s responsible for our stress levels) and into the parasympathetic nervous system (that’s responsible for inducing relaxation). You will start losing weight because you allowed your cortisol levels to be significantly reduced and your body won’t feel compelled to hold on to the fat, which it believes you need to hold on to when your entire nervous system is in stress mode.
Furthermore, women’s deeper issues have always been body confidence. We are our own worst enemies and when we look at ourselves in the mirror, we either have too much weight, or are too skinny, don’t like our hips, bum or legs. I have yet to meet a woman who is 100% happy with what she sees in the mirror.
With EFT we can boost our confidence at all levels, helping us to feel good in our bodies and accepting ourselves for the beautiful women that we are: Inside and out. By using positive affirmations while tapping, we reprogram our brains into thinking in a more loving and positive way about our appearance.
I can’t recommend EFT enough, whether for healthy weight loss or any other emotional, mental and even physical ailments you might have as EFT can reduce pain in just one session.
