I believe I was born ugly. I crawled out of an egg and knew I was a caterpillar: a funny, wormlike creature with not much use to you humans for I ate and damaged your plants. I wasn’t giving much inspiration to anyone and rarely felt inspired myself. However, deep down, I just knew there was something waiting to come out: An inner beauty that would eventually transform me.
One day something magical happened: I found myself inside a very small cocoon. I could barely move in there and I didn’t know what was going on inside there, nor what was going on in the outside world. I kept my faith that something beautiful was about to happen. I later was taught that right there, in that little cocoon, a big transformation took place. Something you humans call metamorphosis. That’s when my inner beauty was ready to come out.
I became a butterfly! I was ready to embrace my new wonderful being. However, I remember how scared I was to leave that safe cocoon. After a while it didn’t seem so scary in there anymore. I got used to feeling protected. Once the cocoon opened and I was a butterfly I knew I had to leave. I saw the outside world again. I saw flowers, trees and other butterflies flying around. I wanted to be just like them. However, fear kept me inside my cocoon for a while. I wasn’t sure that I could fly. What if my wings were damaged or not strong enough to make me fly? What if all the other beautiful butterflies wouldn’t like me and make fun of me?
But one warm and sunny day I just did it. I FLEW for the first time. I spread my wings and became a real butterfly. I will never forget this day for it is the happiest in my life.
In human time this whole metamorphosis took about a month. This is not a long time for such a big transformation, don’t you think? Finally I felt inspired and joyful. Finally I had a real life purpose by assisting the plant world with their pollination process and further spreading beauty in this world. Suddenly you humans changed your whole attitude towards me and thought I was a magical being.
I was asked to give a little presentation, to teach you humans what you can learn from a butterfly. Well, I didn’t want to just teach you something about my butterfly life, but about the whole process of transformation I went through to become a butterfly. So let’s look at the most important 3 lessons I can teach you today.
The first lesson I would like to share is how to have JOY:
I’m a joyful butterfly, day in and day out. I fly dancingly and joyfully from flower to flower. Sometimes I tickle them on purpose so they sneeze. That makes me laugh as I love when flowers sneeze - it sounds so funny!
I also like to play with you humans. You like to catch me but you never manage. And then, just when you sit down and pause for a moment I will come flying from behind and will land on your arm for a second or two. When I do this, i want to teach a lesson for I’m a messenger of the moment: Don’t go chasing after joy and happiness. Appreciate each and every single moment you have and happiness will just come flying and land on you just like I did.
Don’t take things in life so seriously. Keep yourselves up and moving through periods of transformation and change. These experiences don’t need to be traumatic. Just like I had the courage and the faith to leave my cocoon you can leave any difficult situation in your life and become who you need to be.
See my cocoon as your limiting belief and thinking patterns. If you always stay in safe surroundings, never changing anything out of fear that something bad might happen, you will never experience the type of magic and joy that I do, for magic and your unlimited potential lies outside of your comfort zones.
Another lesson I would like to share with you is about having FAITH:
I never knew what was happening to me. I was scared when I found myself in a cocoon but I had 100% faith that I would get out of this cocoon eventually and that something beautiful would happen and so it did. Right from the moment when I crawled out of my egg as a caterpillar I had faith, that there would be more to my life one day than just eating and damaging plants.
You humans need to have more faith again: In yourselves and also in your fellow human beings. Believe in yourselves, don’t ever give up, keep going. And just know that change is inevitable, but with faith and by being positive you will all get to where you need to be. Let all the anger go, all the resentment, the constant sadness, the blaming. Concentrate on what really matters and on the things that will get you where you need to be: Self-Love, Self-Acceptance, Forgiveness, Gratitude, a lot of Patience and Faith.
And last, but not least, let’s look at CHANGE:
You humans need to accept and embrace the changes in your life, whether they are good or bad. They all happen for a reason. These periods of changes are needed in your lives, just like my transformation period was needed. It’s in these moments, in these phases that we change, become stronger, move towards who we are supposed to be or change our entire environments.
You humans constantly have new ideas, new visions, want to recreate who you are. But just as a butterfly will only emerge when all conditions are right, your ideas, your creations and visions will only flourish when your conditions are right. Do you believe in the force of creation? The only constant in your lives you can count on is that you are always changing.
I’m here to teach you to let go of old habits, behaviours and old cycles. I’m a messenger of new life and of true inner expression. I’m here to teach you how to raise your awareness, to learn how to spread your wings and fly off with the winds of change.
Here are some beautiful affirmations you can repeat on a daily basis:
I recognize my true beauty within,
I value and cherish all that I am.
I have the power to transform my life.
To experience true joy.
